The first weekend in November marks a special time in Page, AZ for the annual Hot Air Balloon Regatta. This year, the event takes place from November 5-8th, 2015. There's live music, rides, games, and...hot air balloon launches of course!
Imagine floating in one of over 50 colorful balloons, ascending among the blue sky and overlooking the backdrop of Lake Powell's red rock cliffs and sparkling blue waters. Experience the fun of live music and games which goes all day from 11am-10pm at the Street Fair. Also, be sure not to miss the Balloon Glow which begins around 6:30pm.
How do the balloons fly?
Hot Air Balloons fly when the warmer air rises in cooler air. Heating the air in the balloon with the use of fire (propane) causes the balloon to rise. The air is reheated by firing the balloon to keep the balloon in flight.
When's the best time to fly?
The best time to fly is in the early morning, when the temperature is lower. Colder temperatures are better for the balloon's performance. Launches begin as early as 7:30am from Regatta Field on Hwy 89. All flights take place as weather permits
