Although Lake Mohave and Lake Mead are in the same National Park area, Lake Mohave has some of its own unique beauty and mysteries. The Davis Dam is an 'earth and rock-filled' dam and its primary purpose is not only to regulate flash floods or as a power plant, but to also provide water to Mexico in accordance with a 1944 water treaty.
One of the best, most interesting, and mysterious places on earth to hike is around Lake Mohave. Ancient Indian Petra-glyphs and other historical phenomena lure hikers from all over the world. While October - May are the best times of year to hike due to cooler temperatures, a summer hike is sure to never disappoint!
