We have worked with Green Turtle Bay marina at Kentucky/Barkley Lakes for 8 years now, and we love that our clients are so enthusiastic about visiting this area. Together, Kentucky/Barkley Lakes form the largest body of water between the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico, with over 210,000 acres of water!

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Kentucky Dam Marina near Gilbertsville, KY in addition to Green Turtle Bay so we can offer more houseboat inventory for you to choose from. To the Green Turtle Bay houseboats (the Wanderer, Adventurer, Mystic, and Deluxe), Kentucky Dam marina adds the 58' Lakeview Yacht houseboat and the 80' Luxury Cruiser to the party.

Kentucky Dam marina is, you guessed it, located near the dam and is within Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, which offers opportunities for camping, fishing, eagle watching, hiking, horseback riding, and more. The marina has a ship store with souvenirs, boat parts and accessories, as well as last minute convenience items: drinks, sandwiches, candy, ice, soft serve, 'slush puppie' ice drinks, etc.) You can also pick up your water toys, life jackets, live bait, and fishing licenses before you leave the dock.

In addition to the houseboat rentals, they also offer a variety of bass boats, pontoons, jet skis, ski boats, and stand up paddleboards.

Brenda Simpson, of Kentucky Dam Marina has worked at the marina for 7 years but has been houseboating herself for many years. She and her husband have over 20 years of marine experience, and have fallen in love with the Kentucky Lake area. "What better job can you ask for; a view of the lake and of Kentucky Dam, as well as meeting people from all over the world." Brenda obviously has a deep affinity for lake life and being able to help others experience and enjoy the area.

Land Between the Lakes, or "LBL," is the main attraction while you're out on the lake. The Kentucky Dam Marina is at the north entrance of LBL. You can access over 300 miles of undeveloped shoreline, 500 miles of trails, and 170,000 acres of forest and open lands. There's something for everyone: biking, hiking, wildlife watching, there's no limit. Visit the Homeplace, a 1850's working farm and living history museum, or explore the Woodlands Nature Station, Elk & Bison Prairie, and Golden Pond Planetarium. Check out some local historical sites like the Iron Industry Ruins, where two of eight original furnace stacks still remain.

Avid anglers especially enjoy Kentucky Lake as one of the best lakes for sport fishing in the country with an abundance of largemouth, smallmouth and white bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, and sauger.

Off the lake, Brenda highly suggests taking an evening stroll across the Dam. "The sunsets here are especially beautiful." She also suggests that "if you find yourself passing through Grand Rivers, KY, Patti's restaurant has a four inch pork chop and mile-high pies that are out of this world!"

For more fun off the lake, Maggie's Jungle Golf and Petting Zoo is within a mile of the Kentucky Dam Marina, as well as the Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center and Zip Lines.

There is a whole world of fun to be had at Kentucky/Barkley Lakes for years to come.
