Bull Shoals Lake in Bull Shoals, Arkansas is nestled in the Ozark Mountains on the border of Arkansas and Missouri. This area is one of the top destinations for fishing in the country. Known for largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, walleye, and several varieties of catfish, Bull Shoals Lake has hundreds of miles of lake arms and coves which supply the perfect fishing environment.
In addition to swimming, boating, and other water sports and activities, Bull Shoals Lake is a very popular location for scuba diving, which is fantastic all year round since the water never freezes. There are several notable areas for diving, including 200' rock walls with caverns, underwater forests, and sunken farm equipment.
The water temperature is typically in the 50's in the winter, around 70 in the spring, and in the 80's in the summertime.
Nearby, in the town of Bull Shoals, be sure to stop for a tour of the Bull Shoals Caverns. These limestone Caverns were carved out by water about 350 MILLION years ago, and there's still an underground river shaping the cave today.

Created by the Blakely Mountain Dam, Lake Ouachita is situated in the hills of Ouachita National Forest. Its waters, known for its superior clarity, stretches over 48,000 acres. There are more than 200 uninhabited islands to explore, perfect to moor your houseboat along the lush green shoreline.
"Ouachita" is the French spelling of the Native American word "Washita," which derived from "Owa Chito" which means "Big Hunt."
Hiking and biking trails are abundant at Lake Ouachita, but it's also a great location for water sports and activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking, wakeboarding, waterskiing, and even scuba diving.
Hot Springs, Arkansas is only 13 miles away from the lake, and is a town that grew around hot springs where you can enjoy soaking in traditional and modern style spas, pools, and bathhouses. But there are a myriad of other attractions and things to do in Hot Springs: ride roller coasters and water slides at Magic Springs, learn about the nation's most notorious mobsters at the Gangster Museum of America, have a unique hands on experience at an Alligator Farm and Petting Zoo, or get your adrenaline going at a 7 zip line course.
